Privacy policy.
Dory Digitalis a small business in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This page explains what we do with your information when you contact us through this website. It’s short because we don’t do much with it.
What we collect
When you fill in the contact form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your business name
- Your email address
- Your phone number, if you give us one
- Which service you’re asking about
- Whatever you write in the message box
We don’t ask for anything we don’t need, and we never ask for payment details through this website.
Why we collect it
To reply to you. That’s the whole reason. If you become a client, we keep your contact details so we can carry on working with you.
We don’t sell your information, we don’t rent it, and we don’t hand it to anyone for marketing.
Where it’s stored
Your enquiry is emailed to us and stored in our own client system, which runs on Supabase, hosted in Canada. Email is delivered through Resend and our email runs on Google Workspace. This website is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs including IP addresses for a short period for security and performance reasons.
These companies process the information on our behalf. They don’t use it for their own purposes.
Some of these providers store data outside Canada, which means it can be subject to the laws of the country it’s stored in.
How long we keep it
If you get in touch and we don’t end up working together, we keep the enquiry while we might still need it and delete it when we don’t. If you become a client, we keep your details for as long as we’re working together and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records.
If you want it gone sooner, ask and we’ll delete it.
Cookies and analytics
We use a privacy-friendly analytics tool that counts visits without cookies and without tracking you across other websites. It doesn’t identify you, and there’s no cookie banner because there are no tracking cookies to consent to.
We don’t use advertising trackers or retargeting pixels on this site.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) you can:
- Ask what information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct it if it’s wrong
- Ask us to delete it
- Ask how it’s been used
Email jeremy@dorydigital.comand we’ll sort it out. We’ll reply within one business day and act on the request within 30 days.
If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
Children
This site is for businesses. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Security
We keep your information behind passwords and access controls, and only the two of us can see it. No system is perfectly secure, but we don’t keep anything sensitive here, so there isn’t much to lose.
Changes to this page
If we change how any of this works, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top.
